Why I moved to GWM
For 20 years, I sold the Ford brand. It was a significant part of my career, and I am grateful for the experience, relationships and lessons that came with it.
GWM has been in South Africa for more than 18 years, quietly building a competitive range and a network of over 100 dealerships. That makes it one of the most established Chinese vehicle brands in the country — not a newcomer asking customers to take a leap of faith.
But after two decades, I knew I wanted a new direction — a brand I could feel genuinely comfortable putting my name behind. I did not leave Ford because I had stopped caring about customers. I left because I wanted to represent a product I truly believed in for the next chapter.
GWM impressed me with the build quality, performance and breadth of its range. The vehicles feel considered, deliver what they promise and offer remarkable value against the established brands I know so well.
